Zettaset, a provider of Big Data security, today announced that it has teamed up with Gemalto, a provider of digital security, to provide enhanced, centralized security for big data deployments with the integration of their respective encryption and enterprise key management offerings.

The combination of interoperable data encryption, enterprise key management, and HSM (Hardware Security Modules) solutions from Zettaset and Gemalto can turn any big data deployment into a trusted and compliant environment by solving the critical challenges of data governance and control, no matter where data is stored, according to Zettaset.

Both companies have completed successful interoperability testing of their advanced encryption, key management and crypto management solutions to enhance data privacy and protection of information in in the cloud, virtualized environments and on-premises.

All Zettaset and Gemalto encryption, key management, and HSM products adhere to the OASIS open standards for interoperability, said Zettaset. These include the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) and Public Key Cryptography Standard (PKCS) #11. These standards provide better data security while at the same time reducing expenditures on multiple, redundant products.

“The collaboration with Zettaset expands our ability to provide pervasive protection of sensitive data in highly distributed big data deployments,” said Todd Moore, Vice President for Encryption Product Management at Gemalto.

“It is an example of Gemalto’s growing ecosystem of data protection partners that allows our customers to leverage best of breed technologies to build unified approaches to data security regardless of where their data is stored, accessed or managed,” he added.
