Tesla is recalling nearly 1.1 million cars in the US because the windows might close too fast and injure people’s fingers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said it is a safety-standards violation. It also confirmed the company’s notice that it is recalling the Tesla Model 3 for the years 2017 to 2022, the Tesla Model Y for 2020-2021 and the 2021-2022 Model S and Model X vehicles.

Tesla discovered the problem with the automatic windows during production testing in August. Owners will be notified by letter, from 15 November.
