Seems like everywhere you look these days, you literally trip over a drone. Even though the technology is still evolving, drones are increasingly being deployed for a wide variety of uses – ranging from photography, exploration and package delivery, to unabashed spying.
If you are a tech-savvy city like Tokyo, what do you do to curb this growing menace? Oh, I know, equip the “good” drones with nets to scoop up the rouge ones and carry them off to where naughty drones are kept in that part of the world.
Tokyo is set to unveil interceptor drones equipped with nets to corral suspect drones.
It is actually a very simple and effective solution to what poses to be a huge problem if a lasting answer is not found. This particular strategy will be tested by a single drone later this month, and will go into service by February, 2016.
