In recognition of the importance of cybersecurity to the nation, President Obama has designated October as National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). The aim is to educate and engage the public and private sector through events geared towards increasing awareness about cybersecurity , and increasing the resilience of the nation in the event of a cyber incident.
Some of the themes for October 2015 include “Creating a Culture of Cybersecurity at Work,” Your Evolving Digital Life” and “Building the Next Generation of Cyber Professionals.”
The National Cyber Security Awareness month is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in conjunction with the Multi-State Information Sharing Center and the National Cyber Security Alliance.
