Vinli, Inc., a connected car platform, announced Monday the introduction of the Vinli Home Connect, to end the fragmentation between competing connected home and connected car systems. Built on the Vinli platform, Vinli Home Connect brings compatible connected home platforms together into one interface with the connected car.

When the Vinli onboard device and platform is used with leading connected home products from companies including Icontrol Networks, Nest, and Samsung’s SmartThings, the new Vinli Home Connect app integrates comprehensive automation control into a single interface. Temperature, lighting, security, and more can all be managed or monitored using one app, across platforms and manufacturers.

The car-home connection means that home automation settings can be based not only on the presence of the user in the home, or on the clock, but on where the user’s car is located. All of this is powered by Vinli’s always-on 4G / LTE-powered connected car.

We’re seeing this rapid growth of integrations being developed for the connected home and car markets, but this is creating a fragmentation problem and frustration for the consumer,” says Mark Haidar, founder and CEO of Vinli. “Our team has created an elegant, easy-to-use solution for connected homes in the US and abroad, so consumers can seamlessly manage their network of connected home products and connected vehicles, all from a single source.”

“With this integration, the power of our platforms – SmartThings for the home and Vinli for the car – are coming together to offer consumers a first-of-its-kind home automation experience,” said Jeff Hagins, CTO and co-founder at SmartThings.
