The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on Tuesday launched the CyberCareers.gov website, which it called “a critical piece” of the Federal Cybersecurity Workforce Strategy that was published in July 2016.

The CyberCareers.gov website will provide specific cybersecurity information and resource portals to job seekers, managers and supervisors, according to the agency.  It will be a completely new, multi-use platform used to recruit new talent, including students, and will also assist hiring managers and HR professionals with tools and guides for developing and supporting their current strategies, said OPM.

“The launching of the CyberCareers.gov website is an important step in advancing OPM’s mission to recruit, hire, develop, and retain the top cybersecurity talent the government needs by building the cybersecurity workforce pipeline,” said Beth Cobert, Acting Director of OPM. “We collaborated with agency cyber partners to create content for this website and will continue to update the site through user interactions and feedback provided from those experiences.”

The Federal Cybersecurity Workforce Strategy focuses on existing and forward-leaning policies that will help the Federal Government build the cybersecurity workforce pipeline as well as recruit, hire, develop, and retain top talent.  The new website highlights information and tools from reputable websites, including a heavy reliance on Federal Government websites, according to OPM.
